Dan Berry is a third year musical theatre student at the University of Oklahoma. Since starting his college career he has been fortunate enough to perform in Spring Awakening as Melchior and She Loves Me as Kodaly. Dan has attended Star2B since he was a sophomore in high school and owes his deep love of the arts to Julie, Theresa, and all the wonderful directors and choreographers he’s been able to work with. Dan is very excited to return home and assist in this summer’s production of Lion King Kids.

Ty Altomari is thrilled to work for the Star2B camp this summer! Ty has just completed his first year at the University of Michigan studying Vocal Performance. Ty has been in many Star2B productions, such as Pippin (Pippin), Spring Awakening (Ernst), and Songs For a New World. He has also been in other productions, such as Elf the Musical (Michael, National Tour) and Growing Pains at University of Michigan. Ty always enjoys his time at Star2B, and he is so excited to work as a Music Director for the first time!

Marcus Byers Jr, is from New York, NY. He just finished his freshman year studying Voice Performance at the University of Michigan! He is a singing, dancing, and acting artist and hopes to eventually bring this gift we call theatre and storytelling to the Broadway stage. Marcus super excited to be working with STAR2B THIS SUMMER!”

Avery Nusbaum (they/she) is excited to be joining the Star 2B family directing Rent! NY City born and raised Avery has been involved with numerous creative projects including directing and starring in different iterations of the new play I'm Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire by Samantha Hurley, Audrey in Shakespeare in the Woods filmed adaptation of As You Like It, and Queering the Canon with Ring of Keys as Cinderella, featured in Them publication. Thank you Star 2B, my cat, Monty, and remember to lead with love!

Sam Hurley (she/her) is a Maine raised, New York City based comedy writer and theater educator. After receiving her BA in Theatre Studies from Ithaca College, Sam’s work has been seen at Upright Citizen’s Brigade, People’s Improv Theater, and NY Winterfest. She’s previously worked at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY as their education intern.

Liz Tancredi Gillam 
Director

Liz Tancredi Gillam is a New York based actor and educator, who LOVES Star 2B and believes joy is at the center of creativity and learning! After earning her BFA in Drama from Syracuse University, Liz began working in regional theater as well as the downtown, experimental New York theater scene. Select credits include These Seven Sicknesses and Restoration Comedy (New York Premieres, The Flea Theater); Measure for Measure (Roxy Regional); Snow White (Berkshire Theater Group); Into the Woods (Thin Air Theatre Co.); Icarus, an Americana Musical (The Oberon/ A.R.T.); One Man, Two Guvnors (Cape Rep Theatre); and originating the role of Eve in the virtual playlet Hey Stranger (Stage West). On camera credits include Gravesend, Season 2; The Food that Built America; City of Mercy; the short film Crow God; and an upcoming film adaptation of Shakespeare's As You Like It. Liz earned her MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College where she was a Teaching Fellow from 2018-2020, and is currently Artistic Director for Star 2b Performing Arts. Jason Cohen 
Music Director

Jason Cohen is an actor, multi-instrumentalist, music director, and writer. He has thoroughly enjoyed working with Star 2 Be for nearly five years, directing Matilda (Best Director, National Youth Arts Award 2020), and musically directing Heathers (Best Musical Direction, National Youth Arts Award 2018), Peter and the Starcatcher, Little Shop of Horrors, and last year's Pippin. Through his production company, Emmett Productions (EmmettProductionsLLC.com), he co-created, produced, and stars in Great Balls of Fire, a theatrical concert about his time playing Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet, which is performed in theatres around the country. Recently: A Streetcar Named Desire (musical supervisor, Fiasco Theater, NYC), The Doormen (co-composer, Le Tere, NYC), Buddy (musical director, Argyle Theatre, Long Island). Anna Spendley
Associate Choeographer

Anna Spendley studies musical theater at Rider University. During her first two years at college, she has been in three mainstage productions including Everybody, ISM: A Cabaret, and Pete(Her) Pan. Anna has been doing shows and taking classes at Star 2B since she was 10 years old! Her favorite memories include roles in Lés Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors, and Spring Awakening. She is thrilled to be doing Rent this summer with Star 2B, as well as teaching classes, helping run the summer camp, and associate choreographing 13: The Musical. Star 2B is Anna’s second home, and she looks forward to spending her summer doing what she loves most with her favorite people at her favorite place!
